    Hi Jerry,
I have a 2007 rxp that had the 2008 supercharger upgrade done under warranty at 22 hours. I now have 97 hours on it and am wondering do I need to buy the whole rebuilt kit or just the riva washers?
    Thanks,
    Jack

      Jack,
with 97 hours on it you will need to buy the whole rebuild kit..the new kits now come with the newer updated metal clutch washers also so now you will not have to buy washers on top of the kits...

            Hi Jerry,

I send you this mail from Holland.

I am looking for a new supercharger for my Seadoo RXP from 2004. It hase 84 hours on it.
To rebuild it is very expensive over here.

Can you tell me what the best super charger is for me?

I am looking for one, that will last a while. Not special for more power.

Do I need other Washers as well? Ore are those in the new super charger?

How often do you have to rebuild a good supercharger?

Do you know the shipping cost for this to Holland?

Hope to hear from you soon!

            Best regards Thomas van Brenk

Hi Jerry, this is my first post so I will apologize upfront for my lack of knowledge here. I have a 2006 RXT which I bought new and have always kept the oil changed with sea doo products. It has 71 hours of use and last week when I de-winterized, I noticed that it was running with a lot less power so I docked quickly. Having done some reading before and not listening to the pro's!! I did not replace the washers on the supercharger before. Today I removed the supercharger and from what I have read I am sure that the ceramic washers are gone. I understand that you repair the superchargers so I plan to use your service. Do you think that I need to remove the engine to flush it out? Is buying a new X type supercharger worth the money instead of doing a full rebuild on mine? Will I have to buy additional parts other that the X charger to be able to use it? Thanks for your advice

                  Welcome to the forum!

It's unfortunate that you've lost the ceramic washers on your supercharger. This causes several problem areas.
Firstly, your front oil pump will be damaged and in need of replacement. You'll find most of the ceramic debris in the front oil pump screen.

You will want to remove the engine and remove the PTO housing so that you can inspect the rear oil pump and replace those parts if necessary and you will want to inspect every link of the timing chain to ensure there's no damage to the chain. Often falling ceramic debris will damage the chain and it will fail hours later after getting the ski back on the water. When this happens then you have bent valves to deal with.

You can get your replacement front oil pump parts from this page of the forums online store

Jerry, Thanks a bunch for the reply. I guess first task will be to take the engine out and inspect/replace parts as you describe. It may take me a couple of weeks since I keep the ski on a weekend place. Thanks again for the info and the links and I will be back in touch.

                            Jerry,

I have an '06 RXP that came into the shop after the engine shut off suddenly and then it turned over slow... I pulled the S/C off and the motor turns over fine. So apparently the bearings or something failed in the supercharger. There is some scraping damage to the intake side of the housing and possibly the impeller... I was wondering if I can send the S/C to to you first and you can look at it and advise if it is rebuildable or not and or what additional parts would be needed. Thanks

I believe I spoke to you over email on this one?
Your impeller and housing will be trashed. It's cheaper to just buy a new replacement supercharger.
