  • Valve train upgrade brand QUESTION?

Right now there are many options for a Valve train upgrade and i dont found any info comparing this....

On the online store i found:

1.- The Riva valve train upgrade for U$600
2.- The R&D valve train upgrade for U$333.95 + the new bolts
3.- The Supertech valve train upgrade for U$299 + the new bolts

So which way for CC racing at 9200RPM?
    many thanks

I have been using the Supertech valve train up grade with a Rotax racing ecu that is set for 8650 rpm, I have had no problems in my closed course racing,

Re: Valve train upgrade brand QUESTION?

I agree with shrabber, my Riva setup has been just fine, Rev limiter was set at 9 k all summer on An otherwise stock engine and it ran great for 30+ hours

So the Rivas and the Supertech have the same tension and weight?

I have been turning my Rivas springs & retainers to 8900-9000 for some time now with no issues. Are you saying this is not a good idea?

Re: Valve train upgrade brand QUESTION?

People use the rivas 9k plus all day no issues that I'm aware of. Had the supertechs been available when I bought my set I would have opted for them for the price difference.

Rivas to 9k super tech up.. Super tech springs have higher tension springs but then again when you put Riva springs and retainers you associate them with a 8600-8650 ecu. Outside of that if your gonna go pass 9k go super tech

We have many skis running the Riva/Ferrea springs in the 9500 to 10,000 range without issue and many hours, also with high lift cams. We usually run close to 100 miles in a weekend in severe duty.

                        Just finished the Swap

Well, I just finished installing the SuperTech Springs. One of the easiest mods to date.
