Any blockoff will slow the ski down.....it adds more surface area to the hull.

Agreed, but you r in fact extending a hull with this mod. Aerated water does not support anything. The drag created from this would be very minimal so I wouldnt look at this from a friction point of veiw but a purpose point of view. It does look cool. I would remake them since you have the template and know how but out of 3/16 and plain ol plate.

Great job from what I can see. I just would have avoided diamond plate. That will cause the water to aerate which provides zero lift. But hey, they look great.

BUT Then again.........it can create AIR BUBBLES for less drag too? AND even if it does create drag, again its way less than what was on it....

Well it's got to be WAY less Drag than those Big Dumbo Ear looking OPAS.But i haven't had a chance to ride yet.
