  • Map Sensor Pinout

Hey there, does anyone happen to know the pinout for this map sensor??

Have tried looking online and wired it up to my standalone a bunch of different ways but getting mixed results.

Its for a 2007 GTX 4tec. And a bunch of other skis around that era.

White should be 5v from your ECU’s sensor 5v output (not 12v). Black should go to ECU sensor ground (not chassis ground), Pink is Map signal to ECU. Are you getting any signal at all? Do you have its values scaled correctly?

      Thanks John,

I don't have the ski at hand but will check it ASAP and report back.

When I first wired up I did my best guess and was getting about 202kpa static. So I thought that must be reading full voltage, and probably max pressure of the sensor.

Rewired and I get about 100kpa now, but on cranking there seems to be zero variation in pressure. The engine hasn't run yet so perhaps cranking is not enough to pull a decent vacuum but I would think you'd get some variation.

Perhaps it was right the first time and needs to be recalibrated.

Will report back on the wiring, thanks again.

It should be somewhere around 100 kpa with the engine off, depending on your altitude. But that obviously depends on having the sensor scaled correctly. Here are the values I used. What ECU are you using?

          Thanks mate!

VIPEC V88, it has sensor settings for seadoo already in the software, but maybe I need to do it manually.

They're both white and blue coming out of the map sensor plug either side of the earth unless its just faded over time

But based on what you've said the pin on the right should be the sensor wire (in reference to the sensor, left on the photo). Left pin should be +5v. Assuming that the pins are numbered left to right. Right being #3.

I'll check my wiring again and use the calibration and see how I go.

            Thanks!

Sorry for the shitty resolution, but here’s the manual page. 5v should be on terminal 1
