The Explorer rear deck

I knew the Explorer had an extended rear deck, roughly 11 inches longer than the X models, what I didn't know is that the deck can be purchased and added to any of the ST3 hulls. A couple of questions for anyone who ventured into adding the rear deck to their ski.
Does it affect the performance, steering or ride of the ski? Photos would be nice too; I don't want the look of a flatbed truck in the water.

Yes, it affects the performance, steering, and the ride. Not only will look like a flatbed truck, but it will perform like one too. If you care about optimal performance then do not add the deck. If all you care about is storage space and don't mind the negatively affected performance then you might like the deck.
