Question on Wear Ring clearance

Got a new Impros worked impeller and a 161 Wear Ring (Purchase here) ready to go for my 2017 RXTX.
I briefly fitted them on the bench and it there's a bit more clearance than I would like.

How much will the ring close up when it's installed

Those yellow wear rings go in very tight into the pump so perhaps it will close up that gap. If it doesn't than that's no good, the gap is too large.

You have to install it in the pump so everything is centered to get a true idea of clearances.

They actually compress a surprising amount once you press it into the pump. You really should consider installing a stainless wear ring once that plastic one wears out.
