  • Oil Filter Collapsing and oil light coming on help...

    Hi all, I am not sure why or how this could happen, but my oil light and buzzer keeps coming on and this is happening: ???

        I agree! Dmags, you likely have a bad oil cooler, or a bad water pump seal.

            It is a cheap ebay filter, but I have never seen that before with cheap filters.... could that really be the issue? The oil is super clean and no milkshakin' going on..

              What ski? 1630 motors use a metal mesh filter unlike 4tec.

                  So I just tried an OEM filter took her out and same issue. My oil is super clean so nothing is mixing there. Any ideas what i can check next? And it's an 07 GTI 4TEC

                        they look like the same aftermarket filter, you should do what Jerry suggested and use the oem metal filter.

                          This has been a known issue with cheap filters. Hence why BRP even upgraded to a metal mesh filter to make it even prevent this more. As stated just buy the better filter try it and then see what happens. We are all leaning towards the cheap filter being the issue. Spend the few bucks extra on your $12,000 Plus machine.
