  • 2022 Seadoo GTX 170 Free flow exhaust enquiry

    Hi there,

Am wanting to put a free flow exhaust on my 2022 seadoo gtx 170. just wondering if there is anything to look out for e.g. backpressure change causing engine to have reduced reliabilty etc etc.

Anyone done free flow on a similar model seadoo?

    Cheers

You will hate the free flow exhaust. They drone terribly. Go with the Riva or Worx rear exhaust. You will be very happy with that. There is no loss in reliability, in fact, it improves reliability be getting rid of the crappy plastic and rubber exhaust components that are prone to coming apart and filling the ski with water.

I have a 2022 RXT with the WORX free flow exhaust and get very little drone if any. My 2019 RXTX had the Riva free flow exhaust droned terribly. I would try the WORX as it's only a little over a $100 if bought through the Green Hulk store. Has anyone else used the WORX and had the same experience as me? I think the reason for almost no drone if any is because the WORX utilizes the stock rubber hose instead using all metal. I believe the all metal pipe with the Riva creates most of the drone and the rubber hose soaks up the resonance the metal pipe creates.

Installing a "free flow" is an inexpensive way of eliminating the plastic resonator and preventing a sinking ski. If, as others say, the drone becomes unbearable, see post 3.
