I have a 2022 RXTX300 with a Riva stage 2 tune, 13/18 prop, 4” rear air and never saw past 77 mph on the dash last year. I was told by many different ppl and tuners to get the slip checked so I did and he said it’s fine 146 in-lbs which is 12 ft-lbs and its to spec. Now many ppl and videos online say 13-14 ft-lbs which 1-2 ft-lbs more so who’s right and who’s wrong here?

Factory spec is for factory boost. Rule of thumb is 1 ft/lb for every psi boost you’re gonna see

I've been curious about this too. If the factory "new" range is 14Nm to 17Nm, then why do so many recommend setting it to ~19Nm? Where is the 19Nm number coming from? My 21 SC is sitting at 15.5Nm which the manual says is perfect, but everyone else says is low.
Which number should be followed and why? I'm the kind of person that doesn't believe anything until I know the reason why. Is 19Nm better for performance or reliability? Does it prevent the washers from wearing out as much? Has there been any long term testing on the factory spec vs the spec everyone else calls for?Comment

Take the factory spec and throw it in the garbage. Just like seadoo says our superchargers are "maintenance free." We all know that's false!
The general rule of thumb is to set slip at 1 foot pound for every 1 psi boost anticipated. That said, if your supercharger makes 16 psi boost pressure, set your slip at 16 foot pound. (21 nm)

What they don’t mention there is that you’ll have to grind your 18mm wrench down to about 7mm thick so it fits on the bottom nut so you might as well buy a cheap one to sacrifice. And then obviously a gear wrench to check slip

Well based on what I’m reading it seems the all the guys with the tunes and after a bit more performance are all bumping the factory slip up a 1-2 ft-lbs giving you a few more lbs of boost 💨 which is HUGE. Seems like the motors can handle it so I’m gonna have to bring my ski back in and get this done as the stock spec is set a little to conservative probably for warranty purposes. Just wanted to update everyone took the ski out on Sunday and WOW saw 79 on the gauge with a full tank of fuel it’s a complete different animal first ride out after having the slip adjusted by my dealer even tho it’s at stk spec I’m sure I’ll see 80/81 with lower fuel.👍 1Comment
