  • Gas in your oil

How many of you guys with a tune or modified 300 motor are getting gas in your oil? Onestock 2016 was so bad seadoo replaced the motor. My 2017 with 142 wheel same problem. We suck out some oil with gas about ever 10 hours. You can see the oil level rise on the dip stick. My 2022 with a turbo same thing 15 hours. I decided to rebuild the 2022 with new Sleeves & Pistons.

After 25 hours, my 300s will show 3% fuel in the oil as shown by Blackstone Labs. My engines are stock with the exception of a SCOM and catch can.

Some people say the tune is rich causing gas in the oil. I think it is Seadoo shit plasma coated cylinders. The super charger boost causes gas to blow by the rings that don't seal well with the plasma. I will see if I have the same problem with new sleeves & cp pistons.

Some 2016's had issues with blow by, especially ones that were not broken in right.
You don't monitor your AFR's? Plasma cylinders may be shit, but your tune is probably to rich.

Lean is mean.....but too lean can kill an engine, especially if combined with too much ignition. Its a balancing act by any tuner. Rich fuel mixtures help reduce combustion temperatures but will add gas to the fuel, as will worn piston rings or distorted cylinders (out of round).

Closed loop cooling vs open loop cooling.......the late 300s have a better closed loop cooling than earlier models, but tuning will be different for open loop cooling.

            BINGO!!!
But it's important to verify your AFR is correct.

I use Dash-Pac to monitor AFR. RIVA does the tune. I just send logs. We have gotten a few Skis in the shop and when you check the oil you can smell the gas. Even with a stock tune you still get blow buy.
