JP's 09 RXPX Project

I picked up a used 09 RXPX a couple months ago. I told my wife and myself, "I am going to leave this one stock." Well...its going to look stock and sound pretty stock.

So here is my goal for this PX project, 80+ mph on GPS on the seat (not supermaning) with the stock engine, stock ecu, stock X charger. The only mods to the engine will be FA removal, 4" front air intake, and O/L cooling. The rest will be pump and hull mods.

So far, I am only at 72.1 with a R&D grate. I think the ski has a injector problem. One is acting like it is stuck open. The ski only has 18 hours and set for long period of time. Once I get this sorted out and get a good base line, I will get going on this thing.

Oh, I have another project when this one is done.

Okay, New baseline 72.6mph on the seat, 73.2mph supermaning on near glass. I changed out the injectors and started on the trailer, ran smooth. Put it the water and it still runs rough idle and funky at low rpms. I guess the injectors are okay, F... I than changed one coil that maybe acting up. While the low rpm stuff straighten out, the idle still is a little funky. Seems to be running fine on top all the time. Pulls 8100-8140 no problem. Water today is 77* and the air is 78*. Think I am going to get the TB reset and get the 10 hour maint. warning taken off next week.

If I get some time in the next couple weeks, going to get a O2 sensor set up .

see that gpr in your picture? Take motor from rxpx drop into gpr and your at 80 mph+++ with stock motor. Problem solved!

It will not be reflashed. Staying stock ecu non-reflashed. When I do speed run videos, I will show rpms. Promise.

Hey Joe, The thought has cross my mind, but the engine will be coming out of the 08PX thats running 88.5 right now not the 09.

JP is going for the everyday 80mph and not the once in a blue moon 80. I'm sure there will be room to spare and he might get it done with the stock prop, or at least a modded stock prop.

My stock ecu is reflashed to 9.1K not 8.8K. LOL

Okay, Got off my butt today and did the DIY front air intake, DIY oil catch can, and put a 83mm RXP exit nozzle on. I made a promise to a friend that my wife would smoke his PX next time out. They were dead even last time out 73mph. I still need to pull the FA out of the intake manifold, drill the exhaust manifold for a O2 sensor, install a DIY fuel pressure regulator. A little lazy because my favorite place to ride the water is still too low.
