  • That is a GFR TURBO KIT. The up & down pipes & turbo are water jacketed. The TURBO is a Garrett G25-660. This is a 2022 RXT. I'm have the motor buit with CP pistons, Carrillo Rods, Supertech 1mm bigger valves, springs, retainers, Huge ported head, Bronze valve guides, Calas cam, Lacey power sports Aluminum Flywheel & TURBO oil injection, Riva fuel rail, fuel regulator, ARP bolts, 1300cc injectors, Duel exhaust, custom prop & pump work, Assebulled by Dan at Adrenaline Racing. • Bad news and good news . I've tested the unit and everything seems fine with the setup of the cooling lines etc.. except for the performances . With 300 oem impeller and lucky cone (no spacers) 87 mm nozzle I was only capable of 8.5 psi and 7400 rpm at 66 mph on the dash . Very poor performances , speaking with Jesus he said that the impeller is too big for that setup .... I exepected more torque at lower rpm's .... the turbo start to build pressure at 6000 rpm . Speaking with the previous owner of the turbo , said that he experienced a little turbo lag compared with supercharger ... Does it sounds correct for you guys ?

            • I've found a leak from exhaust .... maybe is the problem

Use gray high temp gasket maker on the up pipe Vband to exhaust housing. Mittens also had this issue with his BW 67/58 turbo, but he used a metal gasket.

BorgWarner has 3 different waste gate actuators: Low boost, medium boost and high boost. Which actuator is in use? It should be the medium actuator for up to 20 psi of boost when using a manual boost controller. If you're not using a manual boost controller, you'll have lower boost, which is what I suspect with only 8 psi of boost, and not enough preload. Second, there are 2 nuts on the actuator rod, with the flapper valve linkage in between 2 nuts. The (right nut in the photo) closest to the canister is used to lock the setting, the other (left nut in photo) is the preload nut. Screw it on the rod 5 full turns to set preload. The the other nut is then jammed up against the flapper valve linkage, locking in the preload nut.

Don't jack with the impeller yet. Let's get your preload and manual boost controller set up first.

You should have received directions from BW on setting it up. If not, I can assist.Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	1.86 MB ID:	6164457

Yes also Evan told me to use that ! What about Permatex Ultra Copper Gasket maker Rtv ? 🤔
it resist to 700°F , do you think is enough ?

I have this . I have medium actuator installed . The previous owner was running at 20 psi and he did not touched any screw on it ....

                      • Are you sure I have to preload that nut ? What about if already preload ?

                        • Seems that the exhaust leak has been gone using the permatex ultra copper gasket maker . I did 5 turns on the preload nut of the waste gate and tomorrow I will test again . Finger crossed 🤞!

Yeah it’s insane. I’ve only used it at work on diesel turbos and exhausts. Like, this shit better not leak because the ship needs to sail tomorrow. OK, Fuchs it.
