When you pull your supercharger and you see a gap like this between the spring washers you know it's time for a complete rebuild

As the clutch wears the spring washers "spring out" in an effort to keep tension on the clutch assembly. As they spring out the gap gets bigger.
In the case of this supercharger the spring washers were at their limit and there was basically no tension left on the clutch.
One of the washers wore deep into the gear

This is what a good gear looks like. You can still see the 4 oil grooves.

This is the worn out gear

Here is the worn gear on the left and a good gear on the right

This clutch slipped for a long period of time which eventually wore out the needle bearings and the shaft.
