Rude Fuel Controller Software/Manual

    So I'm having troubles loading my map into my controller. I've got a gateway netbook running xp and a radioshack gigawire USB adapter.

    When I go to connect to the ecu, I get a 10 second count down that says "attempting to connect to ecu". When that finishes, I get a popup that says "error communicating with ecu check connection and power to tue ecu. I'm doing this with the key on the post not running. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

      Make sure the com port setting in the R-4 s.w. matches the windows assigned com port number of the USB to RS-232 adpater.

          I have a controller, but did not come with cable.
          Can I purchase the cable from a electrical/ computer store, or is it specially made for the controller.
          2012 T3 RXPX - Riva Athena - 76mph @ 8300rpm.

            I just used a regular serial cable with a USB adapter. There is a thread here that discusses in detail how to make one, but there are 2 pin configurations listed. I crimped tue pins to the wires, then tried both versions listed, and connected them to the laptop until I was able to connect to the ecu, then I placed the housing on.

                    this unit is great to use,log each rpm afr and pressure then make adjustments.
                    come home view the log make some fine adjustments upload then ready for next time out and log...

                      Anyone has a map for 3rude with big inj ( i will adjust for my 100inj)and rrfpr???

                        Does anyone still use. Or is it even worth using a rude fuel controller anymore? I got on for free with a parts ski.
