2016 RXT 300 vs. GTX 300

I was lead to believe the skis and hulls are identical with the exception of some luxury features on the GTX. I viewed a couple of races on You tube and the RXT seemed to be faster and always ahead of the GTX. Is there a difference in hulls and power?

They both have the S3 hull. The difference is weight and options. One is a luxury craft, one is performance oriented.

Mostly same boats but the GTX includes depth finder, water temp, cruise control (I think), boarding step, safety kit, some kind of glove box organizer and whatever other stuff they throw at it. If you want all that in the RXT you have to add it yourself. The gauges are also slightly different and the sponsons are adjustable on RXTX.

The GTX will have a plush touring seat while the RXT a more firm sport seat. If the RXT was faster, it may have been modded, who knows.

i just went through this myself, and I chose the GTX 300 Limited. I viewed numerous youtube videos, and it did appear from the videos that the RTX was faster, but i think it was deceptive.

I agree with all the above comments and will not repeat any features they already discussed.
Same hull, motor, and performance. The 300 is actually 5 lbs lighter

The RTX gives you adjustable rear sponsons, different handle bars, lap and engine pressure gauge, seat, and distinct coloring. This ski is really geared for racing rather than comfort riding.

The Limited gives you the same speed with comfort. You cant adjust the sponsons (only draw back imho) . Amazing cushy seat, extendable dock lines, and comes with a cover too. It has every feature imaginable.

I think the riding position for the rtx is more a lean forward position similar to a croch rocket motorcycle, where the Limited is more like a Road King Harley type of ride.
I can comment on the performance in 30 days !!!

I was just thinking, the GTX is pretty much the Honda Goldwing of PWCs.

They are cushy tho. Rode one last season, and it was like being on a cloud. I might convert.

They have identical speed....stock was 74-75 on ski, 73.5 gps(international)and now after i installed scom runs 78-79

Awesome overview, thank you. As far as the racing videos, perhaps the RXT provides more confidence and it comes down to the rider. At first I wasn't drawn to the appearance of the GTX, now I think it is a great looking ski. 4 Club Members purchased it. My takeaway was different each time I rode it. It rode well but not responsive in the turns. That's probably where the adjusted sponsons on the RXT comes into play.

Just bought my GTX 300. Thanks for the comparison. I think the GTX is the classiest looking ski on the water. Friend stated today it looks like a Sports Car on the water.

If they put adjustable sponsons, ergo lock seat, adjustable xbars, x gauge package and changed the colors the GTX would be perfect

Anyone who hasn't put there sponsons all the way down on a TX300 doesn't know what they are missing.
