2020 Spark IBR not fully raising when in Forward

I just put the ski in the water for the first time this year and the IBR gate is not fully raising when going into forward. Neutral and reverse seem to work fine. The ski will get up to plane (struggling) but the gate is obviously blocking part of the jet and causes a "rooster tail" type effect. Is there a way to manually override the IBR system to raise the gate. I do not have the VTS system and all the tutorials I can find seem to involve skis with VTS. I don't have any error codes.

Any other suggestions on a fix is much appreciated. The gate does seem to have a little play in movement when off and moving with my hand. Maybe half an inch of travel.
