Hey gang - I recently purchased a mint 1998 Sportster 1800 and loved it. While upgrading the stereo, the red accessory wire always has +12. I read the accessory wire should only have power when the DESS key is in. However, the stereo stays on constantly, so we added a switch.
I cannot find a wiring diagram for the Sportster 1800 because the manual says the electrical schematic is unavailable. Does anyone know if the accessory is supposed to have a constant +12, or is it supposed to be switched via the DESS key? Where would I find the relay if it is supposed to be switched?
