Waterproof LED Trailer Lights?

So I am thinking about upgrading my lighting on my jet ski trailer from the lame, old school incandescents to new waterproof, sealed LED trailer lights.

Anyone used these kinds before?

What I am excited about is the ability to back the trailer into the water without disconnecting the power to the trailer light. It would one less step in unloading my ski that would save me time.

Do any of you have experience with this?

i have had good luck with peterson manufacturing piranha led sealed lights. I buy them on amazon.

Never disconnected the wire harness with these, they work great.

The kit label says 'Over 80 inches' but I don't see the three small marker lamps that would mount in the center of a double PWC trailer.



Is your trailer a single or double?

Do you also have marker lamps along the sides of the trailer?

I have LED lights on my own trailer, and would never consider non-LED lamps on any trailer. However, some LED lamps are not made as well as others. Even if 100% sealed, crappy internal electronics can fail and the LED light will then go dark.

Choose a quality brand LED light kit.

Note: See the stubby White wire with grounding ring? That means this light kit uses the trailer frame itself for the ground return path between the lights and the connector at the hitch.



I prefer a trailer wire harness that runs the white wire from each light alongside all the other wires, all the way back to the connector at the hitch. There can still be a white wire attachment to the trailer frame, but having the white wires be contiguous means there is no problem if a grounding screw becoming corroded.

I have lights like that on my trailer, they work fine. Been dunking a trailer in the water since 1987, haven't unplugged a wire harness yet.

And youre right K447, a well-established brand name is important for any electronics. Ive learned that the hard way.

Oh and my trailer is for a single ski, I only got one of these bad boys after all : D

I believe I found a good set, and it looks similar to the small round ones on my single trailer already.

i bought a set of waterproof trailer lights at autozone fairly cheap. they work great. it was like 40-50 bucks for everything.
