  • Upgraded to new wheels/tires need help with fenders!

Just got these 13's in yesterday. Against my better judgement, I decided against the spinners.

Can anyone recommend a good set of fenders that will fit with my triton? I am also concerned with the brackets- are they too close?

That looks pretty close to the fender. My concern would be the tires hitting the fender bolts. Maybe try bouncing the rear of the ski to see if they make contact.

I have 1 5/8" clearance between my bolts and 12" tires.

If yes, that could be a bad thing when towing...bolts could potentially puncture the tire.

I would find the shortest bolts that would secure the fender.

Instal bolts backwards ( smooth head of bolt on the inside of fender) and use a acorn nut on the out side.

I think most fenders are pre-cut to a particular size, so I'm not sure if removing the brackets would solve the problem...

EDIT: I have seen fenders that are welded on, so that may allow you to mount them a little higher than the brackets.

Here is an assortment of aluminum fenders:

Just worried about them bottoming out on that bracket.

I just bought a new Triton single this year and upgraded it to 13 inch tires. I had the same problem and the tires did hit the bolts when the road dipped and I was traveling at a good clip. Triton sells a solid aluminum spacer block just for this problem. It's a 1 inch solid block and mounts between the trailer frame and the axle ( 2 bolts ) and is very easy to do. If you order the trailer from Triton and get it with 13 inch wheels, it comes with it installed. In my case I didn't want to raise the height of the trailer so I removed the brackets and mounted new Fulton fenders which I got from etrailer.com. Let me know I you want some pics of how I mounted them and I'll get them posted tomorrow ( it's dark here now ). Good luck

I bought the galvanized L brackets for mounting and the fenders from etrailer.com. I used the brackets under the trailer that the leaf springs mount to and mounted the L brackets to them. I just came back from a 1000 mile road trip with the trailer and everything worked great.

One last thought. The fenders that come from Triton are meant for 12inch wheels unless you get the 2 place model. They will never fit your 13 inch wheels right no matter how you re-mount them. Get Fenders meant for 13 inch wheels and re-mount them , you'll be glad you did.

Call triton and get the 1" block spacer and 13" fenders. Easiest way to solve problems and look right

I tried that and the problem with Tritons 13 inch fenders is that they don't mount using the brackets that are on the trailer pictured. You would have to buy tritons brackets for their 13 inch fenders and have them welded on.
