  • Bunk Bracket Extensions

    Howdy all,

    I'm in need of getting some sort of bunk bracket extension to get them lifted up a few inches. Right now the PWC's are too close for comfort to the wheel wells. Before I open the wallet, I was hoping to get some recommendations from ya'll. I've attached what the current brackets look like.

    Easiest and cheapest route. By a pressure treated 2x4. Take a bunk off, screw the 2x4 to the bottom of the carpeted bunk, then attach the whole set up back onto the bracket. cost you 5 bucks for a 2x4.

    I did this on my loadrite trailer because the bunks would bow under the load of the new 4 strokes. Worked awesome and will work for your needs rasing it up another 1.5 inches.

      I like that solution. I guess the only concern would be the trapped moisture between the bunk and the 2x4 wouldn't have a real good chance to dry between landings. Perhaps since they treated that wouldn't be a problem?

        Replace all the bunk boards every few years.

        Might rot a little faster with the board sandwich but as long as you are proactive and don't wait for a bunk to fail before changing them out, should work just fine.

          They make these in several different lengths and or other type brackets.

          Look thru the "similar items".
          sigpic2010 RXT-X Turbo: MoTeC M130, GRF Garrett GTX3071R Turbo.

          2005 GTX-SC (185+hp): 66.5 GPS @ 7650 rpm limit. Riva grate, Riva catch can, Groco strainer-shutoff valve, bilge pump, 4" Kana intake-filter, Riva 2*wedge, Solas 12.5/18, Xternal IC.

            You could start with a 2x4 at the bracket and add a 2x6 above to have a larger pad area. New carpet on the 2x6. When you sandwich the 2x s together, use some construction adhesive between them. should help keep the water from getting between.

                    never had an issue. I used stainless deck screws and it lasted for years!!! Carpet wore out before wood showed any signs. Like said above you will swap them out from use before old age rots them

                      Used to have that same style trailer and the hull would contact the fender. Here is how i lifted the bunks
