              • Does the R&D tool that's mentioned for holding the shaft still work on the newer 2013 clutch setups?

I'm going to proactively upgrade my 68 hour '09 clutch, I'd hate to have it fail at a bad time. Great thread thanks for all the tips. Ordering "99999-04107" gets you the complete 2013 clutch setup for only $475 as mentioned earlier (obviously you need gaskets, crush washers and o-rings as well).

                      • Silly question. How do you know it is broken. Was riding my 2011 FZS yesterday and all of a sudden a huge loss of power. Idles and will plane but top speed is 40 mph. Oil looks fine. Is that the supercharger?

                        • When changing the clutch, to you have to have the clutch tool or is there a trick to do it without?
With a stock supercharger? What is the life of a 2013 clutch? 100 hrs, 200 hrs?

                          Thanks,

                          • Yeah sounds like the clutch or drive gears have failed, remove the inlet plumbing to the supercharger if you can spin the compressor wheel in both directions you have a problem

                            • I found this thread very helpful.my clutch was slipping at high boost levels could only get 13 lbs at 7400 rpms and it would drop off to under 10 lbs if I kept it pinned.I was due for an oil change anyway and since I have a spare clutch I am putting it on and will see how the internals look on the clutch that I took out.in the past it would just let go but I was also running a wheel putting out 13/14 lbs @ 8500.
