        What I do is lighty remove the "polished shine" on the solas by using very fine grit emery cloth (120-400 grit) and stroking in the direction of the blade swirl. Follow the shape and direction of the blade. I would not try cross sanding. It is very easy to make scratches in the surface of the impeller, so don't try to be too aggressive. Make some light strokes along the "meat" of the blades all the way out to the leading edge. I have done several this way and it works well. I am sorry I don't have any pics, but if you ever got an impeller from IR with a race finish, the principal is the same. I learned this trick from Bo, back in the day. Old school stuff still works on the same old pumps and props.
