To plug the hole in the stinger left from the cat temp sensor:
use a 12mm X 1.25 Automotive oil drain plug with a copper or aluminum sealing washer. Apply some 271 (red loctite) and torque plug to 28lbsft.Last edited by Pale Rider; 09-18-2011, 11:41 PM.Leave a comment:

all carb boats use a 1k ohm resistor (ready made chip)
efi 03-04 use a 1k ohm (or ready made chip)
efi 05-08 use a 2k or 2.2k (homemade)

"How To" DIY Cat Temp Resistor:
the cat temp sensor:
parts/tools needed:
soldering iron/thin solder
crimp pliers
wire stripper or suitable tool to remove wire insulation.
2 red butt connectors
1- 2.2K 1/2watt resistor
heat shrink tubing
electrical tape
heat gun or heat source
When running a "D" plate on the newer EFI ski`s you`ll need a chip/resistor to simulate a value/reference for the ecu when removing the OEM exhaust temp sensor.
With your sensor assy, determine the length you need/want and the way you want the resistor to lay in the sheath and cut the wires to desired length.
The wiring is braided stainless and will not solder well, so the solution I came up with was to remove some crimps (red butt connectors) from the insulation and just use the metal part. Trimming the sensor wiring to I can form/overlap the wiring and make it neat, I attached the bare crimp to one sensor lead, and then one leg of the resistor, soldered into the crimps to secure. The solder will flow into the crimp. Apply some heat shrink. repeat for other sensor lead. apply larger heat shrink marine grade tubing to the whole resistor assy. Seal up the end, slide the heat shield over the wiring, I used a soft plastic vacuum cap over the end then added some tape, done...
this was easy...
NOTE* to remove butts from red sleeve, heat up the red sleeves till warm/soft and push out the metal butts with a small pick or driver...Last edited by Pale Rider; 09-18-2011, 11:39 PM.
