Mine shows 66ish on speedo and I'm really doing 60-61.
Get that Riva ribbon delete and a cone intake. It really felt like it woke the ski up and gain a couple mph! Seems like I hit the rev limiter a lot now.

I hit the 65.99 my last two outings. I think I either need to repitch or remove the limiter to get any more speed out of it at this point. Looks like the season is done for me up here, so maybe I'll add a few mods over the winter.
Never herd that there was a special tune just for California alone, but that state does have the toughest polution controls so the ski's needs to be compliant. If the 1800 is only making 160hp then its no better then the 1100cc engine that was used prior to the 1800 and still exists in some models.
I believe the engine is detuned for reliability and to run on 87 oct fuel (ie. Not premium) and makes for a great engine for years of fun on the water.

PS.
It is my understanding that the ski's are speed limited or detuned to not exceed the US coast guard agreement with the industry to not have ski's that exceed 60 knotts (about 66mph). I believe their boats they use to intercept drug runners off Miami and elsewhere are capable of 80 knotts. I read this somewhere after reseaching, but was not easy to find as it is not well advertised for obvious reasons.
Where I ride we have some of the worlds best water skiers and the boats do 90+ mph for extended runs so I not so unrealistic that some agency does not have something as fast.

Seems that the gains are for the supercharged models, so i'm assuming the gains are minimal on a naturally aspirated engine. Trying to contemplate if it's worth it or not on my motor. Or more so if its just going to be the sweet sound of an exhaust that i'm thirsting for but wasting the money for that on my engine? Got the green light from the wifey for a bday present to buy but just trying to decide. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Anyone Running an R&D R3 flash and can post results regarding theirs? I only see them for the VXR models on the website but it's the same motor right?
David, you need to be the first on the FX-HO. I'll be watching for your results !!! Waiting to see when the "Deans Team" flash is available through the on-line store. "CRT" probably offers a flash as well. Good luck.

Haha well i would love to try it out and see what results it yields! The R&D ones are on sale and i'm about to call R&D to see if the VXR one will plug in play for ours as well. I will definitely let you know.

I called R&D about the R3 flash for our ski's and they said even though we have the same motor as the VXR, the R3 ECU reflash doesn't work for the FX, BUT I got an email from 4-tecperformance saying that it will work. I will gather more info from 4tec just to make sure and get back to everyone. It seems it's on sale for $674.96
I went back and forth with Jerry (who was VERY helpful and nice by the way) from the PWCPerformancestore and he did confirm that the R3 reflash that is for the VXR would also work on our FXHO as they have the same 1800cc n/a engine. He did say that the program really needs the Prop to be done first or in conjunction with the reflash and he recommended the R&D Skat Trak 12/19 impeller. He said that the typical gains from doing these two mods are 3-4 MPH with much better acceleration. I know what is going to be in the future for my ski
