  • Jetworks install

    Items needed:
    3 1/8" male npt X 3/8 hose barb 90* fittings
    1 Jetworks valve of your choice
    1 Jetworks gasket
    1 Island racing stealth fitting

    1. Drill 11/32 hole in pump strainer plate to install fitting for Jetworks supply.
    2. Tap hole to 1/8" pipe thread.
    3. Install 90* fitting and reinstall strainer plate.
    4. Run 3/8 hose from fitting in pump strainer plate to OE bilge fitting in the transom plate. Use high pressure hose. DO NOT use the OE siphon bilge hose!!!!

    5. With OE stinger section removed from ski, drill 11/32 hole in the raised boss just in front of the Temp sensor.
    6. Tap this hole to 10mm X 1.25.
    7. Place temp sensor in this hole
    8. Tap old temp sensor hole to 1/8 NPT.
    9. Place a 90* fitting in this hole. This will be your Jetworks inlet.
    10. BE SURE TO PUT WASHERS ON THE BOLT THAT WILL RUN INTO THE WATER JACKET WHERE THE TEMP SENSOR IS NOW LOCATED. If you dont the bolt will hit and ruin the temp sensor when you put the flange back on the stinger. *SEE PIC*

      11. 90* from the first hole you drilled in the stinger is another raised boss. Drill the hole and tap this hole to 1/8" npt as well.
      12. Install 90*fitting for a drain hose.
      13. Using Jetworks gasket attach flange back to the stinger.

          14. Reinstall pipe on ski. It is a good idea to go ahead and attach a piece of 3/8 hose to the fitting on the bottom of the pipe that is the drain hose. It is very hard to get to the clamp once the pipe is on the ski.
          15. Run high pressure hose from the inside of the transom plate where the OE siphon bilge was and route through the stringer plate and connect to the inlet side of the Jetworks valve. Somewhere in this hose you will have to reduce from 1/2" to 3/8" hose.
          16. Connect the outlet side of the jetworks valve to the 90* fitting on the top of the stinger. Be sure to place the valve where it is easy to get to so it may be adjusted easily.

            17. Cut the drain hose that comes from the top of the stinger to the starboard side of the transom plate in a location of your choice (I cut mine behind the stringer plate)and install the "stealth" fiting.
            18. Route hose from the 90* fitting in the bottom of the stinger that will be used as a drain to the 3/8 nipple on the stealth fitting. It is a good ides to put an inline splicer in this hose around the intermediate shaft so that the stinger can be removed easily without having to remove the battery box, or trying to get to the clamp on the bottom of the stinger.
            19. Tighten all clamps and water test on trailer for any leaks. It is a very good idea to use new high quality clamps on all connections.

            *Sorry I dont have any pics of the stealth fitting install, I am still waiting on it to get here.*

              20. Set Jetworks opening point.

              20a. Take hose off of the outlet side of the Jetworks valve
              20b. Attach a piece of 3/8 hose long enough to go outside of the engine compartment to the outlet side of the valve.
              20c. Run boat with the seat off. While watching the tach, you do not want any water shooting out of the hose until the tach reaches your desired point. I get mine to open between 3300 and 3500 RPM's. If the valve is opening too soon you have to turn the valve clockwise to raise the pressre on the spring. If the valve is opening too late vise versa.
              20d. After opening point is set, re-attach jetworks valve to the inlet on the pipe.

              21. HOLD ON!!!!!!

                very good post

                my pro valve is bottomed out on the thread to work at 3500rpm is this the same on all or was i lucky/unlucky....

                  This is the Cosca method correct? I had heard that is not the best method to use, although it is the easiest... hopefully Island or Fercho will chime in.
                  Been there... done that... currently got nothin...

                    This is the Fercho method. I think the cosca method is plumbed into the hose coming from the head to the rear of the pipe.

                        WFO- How are you keeping the bottom hose (to the stealth fitting) away form the shaft ? My dumb a$$ ran that hose underneath the exhaust boot and it is a pain to work with whenever I have to get the pipe out.

                          Just turn the fitting coming out of the bottom of the pipe, and run it over the int shaft cover.

                            True. If you point the fitting the the right position, it will go over the top no problem.

                            You can also incorporate an in line hose splicer on the drain hose to disconnect for easy pipe removal.

                              whatever method it was, that is what my directions said to do that messed everything up...

                              All I could find for new tubing was reinforced 3/8" fuel tubing, will this work for high pressure hose? If not, I could make another hour ride to a marina for tubing...
