  • FWD Compartment Rivet (push-pin) white, 2019 FX

    2019 FX SVHO

In the forward compartment there are plastic doors and the doors are held in place by white plastic 3/4" plastic pins. From the factory, one push pin was missing, one was pulled out hang-on for dear life, and I broke the other two. The push pin is released my raising center. The problem is the center is flush with the surrounding pin so you can't get a push pin tool (I have several) under the center to release it. I would need a knife or a awl to grab the center to raise it

Is there a better solution, or a tool, before I order 8 Yamaha push pins as spares for a $1.25 each plus shipping. The solution is not to remove the doors. Thanks

If these clips are the same as Yamaha uses in the 2017 GP1800, the center pin gets pressed INWARDS a couple of mm. That releases the main clip and the whole thing just lifts away from the panel.
Tip: Do not force the center pin in too far or it will fall into the hull.

To reset the push pins press them back through so the flat face of the pin is proud of the surface by a few mm.

When reinstalling, press the outer clip snug into place then press the center pin until it is flush.

Update: recommend not using the white rivets and use Polaris push pins P/N:7661855. They fit better then the white rivets (push pins) and you can remove (pop) then with a simple push pin tool(s) or use a straight edge. I threw the Yamaha white one in the trash.

To install the forward compartment plastic doors, If your alone suggest, you push pin the male doweled door first (STBD) to stabilize (fix it) and then you can hook up the the other port side door half. If you you have those silly doors you'll know what I mean. hope this helps

Correct, they're actually ATV push pins used to secure the "plastic" panels on the ATV.
I found them important for reinstalling the front compartment door in the 2019 FX. Securing the right side door panel first w/ the push pins allows you to install the left side door panel. Plus they are removabl.e
