got the flapper off, i ended up cutting like a tiny bit off the top.. i pushed and it wouldn't move it.. so i cut a tiny bit of the top of the black hose, and it fit level.
also took my handlebars off.. going to replace the ol'riva ones. Gonna sell these to my uncle for his ski... Keepin the parts in the family
Keep up the good work kid.....Remeber it is called a fuel sending unit and when you step on the tank it helps it pull right out. Now that I know you are only 13 maybe not enough weight....
Just funnin with you, keep up the good work and I think you will hit 75 on GPS....

thanks man... I know you guys are joking.. I have a really big sense of humor if you guys haven't noticed.. yeah,
i think I might have said this.. but the big trick to getting this out was disconnecting the steering cable quick disconnect, and disconnecting the male and female wires that come off the top of the gas tank.
It basically took itself off when these things were off...
the trick isn't pushing on it.. i had my foot on the gas tank, kicking it.. and stomping on it and it didnt make much of a difference.. the thing i noticed is i disconnected the wires that connect to the top, I found where the male and female meet and disconnected them.. and the thing came right off..
also disconnect the handlebar disconnect like bill said.
I have one problem... the top piece won't sit flush when screwed down.. is this okay? how do i fix it? here are pictures..
BTW: people who haven't done this yet... this isn't really that easy.. it is kind of a "PITA"
I am also going to get new tubes. The one that connects from the top to the carbs, one of the fuel lines I am going to replace..
I leave that screen off of mine and run the main tube longer to match the length of the reserve tube. then I do the dual fuel supply and eliminate the selector knob and use that space for my fuel pressure gauge. I added a second bracket for my fuel filter came out nice.

One important thing: While you have the sending unit out to remove the flapper, check that the reserve fuel line pickup tube isn't too long and bottoming out on the bottom plate of the screen assembly. If it is, like mine was, it causes a big restriction in reserve fuel flow.
