I recently had a bog issue while running WOT & I changed both the fuel petcock switch & removed the door.
The door seems perfect. not warped, etc & the reserve line was good, about 1/2" up from bottom of tube.
Well, it was either the door(which seemed fine), the fuel petcock(which was sticky but blew out fine) or the fuel filter(30hrs & really clean, blew through fine).. but the issue disappeared.
Remove the door, inspect the lines, add 'clunker' filters if desired. It's easy, free & can't hurt.
I had no issues removing the pick up in my XLT 1200. a bit tight, but not as hard as some ppl posted(stepping on tanks, etc)03 XLT 1200: Island tuned Carbs, Fuel Accel delete, D-Plate, WaveEaters, ProK F/A, Bilge, Aquastep, Worx Sponsons, Solas 12/18, R&D: Pump Stuffer/Aquavein/Ride Plate .....& 04 GP 800R + 88 750 & 93 X2s.

For the life of me, I could not get the sending unit to budge. I could rotate it a little here and there, but could not find anyway to get any leverage to pull the unit out. VERY STUCK. Any tips on how to get it moving? Do the fuel lines need to be disconnected first? I didn't want to pull too hard on the metal of the fuel lines.Comment
