  • MSD wire install 06' GPR

Just installed 8mm MSD wires on my 06' GPR.The 1500 MONSTER build is getting the wires next.Basically, remove battery box, remove electrical box and open it up.Remove one coil at a time.Pics will show you how to remove the cap,gromet/seal,and boot from the OEM wires. These will be reused.

          Woody:
The MSD wires seem to be of lesser diameter?? Do they have a thinner insulation layer than OEM? Is there any performance increase in voltage delivery??

          Cheers,
          jp

Ps. would 8.5 mm Magnacor wires be a better substitute??

The OEM wires have the black insulator that goes over the wire itself, making the diameter look bigger.
I had a broken wire on my 01' so i decided to do both ski's.I just bought a set for a V-6.

                      Great write up, Woody.

Do you use the coil end terminals from the kit or steal the stock ones?

If from the kit, then the stock wires are not damaged, correct? The mod is reversible?

Lastly, what's the part number for the MSD kit you used?

                      Thanks!
