    Thanks gixx.
Pulled carbs today and guess what.....
Those little filters were plugged with what I thought at first was algae. I let them dry in the sun for a bit and it was freakin SALT!
No wonder why I had plenty of fuel pressure. Duh. I Guess it's time clean the tank as best I can and add duel in-line filters. I replaced those little buggers when I rebuilt the carbs. I got orginal mikuni rebuild kits.

    Live and learn....
There's never time to do it right the first time.
But theres always plenty of time to do it right the second time.

      fuel shut off valves

I have evened up the reserve and out lines in my fuel sender and I am routing the fuel lines to the guide from the novi pdf from above. Whats your opinion of adding a fuel shut off line on each line in between the sender and each of the fuel filters? please reply.

(tank> === (two shut off valves>===(two fuel filters>======then above follow diagram.

A few people have run them, the trouble is finding something that works easy and installs easy. personally I have never run them no need IMO, these aren't gravity fed like a bike.

Have had the xl1200 out three times this summer. Its running just great. But kinda strange though. Everytime I go out the fuel press. is either up 1lb or 1lb down at idle. 6 psi wot. I have an autometer gauge mounted where the on, res valve was. The press. diff. on different days doesent seem to make it run any different or affect fuel mixture. Check my plugs frequently. Just my observation.

My next mod. Im going to shoot for is a 150 psi head. Anybody? Intake grate and ride plate and then I can call this rebuild a success.

With freshly rebuild carbs (and top end), my fuel pressure varied a little bit at idle also. It started off at like 3 psi and now its worked its way down to a little bit above 1 psi. My WOT is 5.5psi. So I think what you are experienced is normal..at least compared to mine.
