  • HOW TO UPGRADE THE GP1200R WITH THE 2'' EXTENSION.

Here is a parts list, with various pictures. You will need to extend your trim and throttle cables as well.

60E-51317-00-94 HOUSING, IMPELLER2 ONE **Actual spacer.
99590-14016-00 PIN, DOWEL TWO **Locates spacer to B-plate.
90119-06859-00 BOLT, WITH WASHER ONE **Small bolt on left side.
90119-10803-00 BOLT, WITH WASHER FOUR**Longer bolts that mount spacer plate AND wear ring to B-plate
68N-51323-00-00 SHAFT, COUPLER ONE **This part is the intermediate shaft.
F1G-61481-02-00 CABLE, STEERING ONE **This part is over $200!! You can make a cheap extention instead!
68N-45593-00-94 FLANGE, COUPLING ONE **This is the coupler on the intermediate shaft.
90201-248M5-00 WASHER,PLATE ONE **This is the washer behind coupler.

Note: The year 2002 GP12R will NOT require intermmediate shaft, but will instead require the longer driveshaft.

    66V-45511-00-00 SHAFT, DRIVE ONE

NOTE: All years of GP1200R will require some type minor grinding to original or aftermarket 1200 rideplate and pump housing.

    Extension

I am thinking about doing this with a HO Pump on my GP1200R.

Do you have any installation instructions (How does the coupler shaft go in)?
Do you have any pics/diagrams/how-to's on how to extent the cables?

    Thanks!

well, it's said to be about 1-2 mph. and then the 05 pump is about another 2 mph. go with the 05 pump and 2 inch spacer and u looking at 2-3 mph on top end and better hook-up

Mark, will you touch base again on which GPR (Year model) that does not have the 2in extention already on it? I think RX talked about it in his thread about this as well.

2002 and down do not have the 2" extention.
2002 has the correct intermediatte shaft, but a shorter driveshaft.

I think that the actual extension may slow you down. The gains are from the new pump vein housing.

                    Really?
6 months ago, all I heard was that you HAD to have it to keep the ski hooked up.

Kerry told me this directly over the phone.

Mark you are correct. I am refering to peak speeds in smooth water. The pump extension will give you better hook up, I have noticed that my ski bounces much more than the other 1300 conversion that do not have the extension while cruising at lower speeds.

Mine are staying in place. I am willing to sacrifice some top end for hook up!!!!

Is the coupler and its washer really needed? I thought you can use the existing ones on your boat?

Nope, dont screw on the new shaft. Wrong size on the threads.

Whazzup guys, I'm trying to get caught up since I've been out several months. Are ya'll saying that this 2" spacer deal gives even more top speed than just the 05 pump alone? Thanks!
