      • So I just recieved the pro Taper contour bars with their adaptrer clamps
Is it going to be a problem that there is a hump on the bottom of the adapters?
I noticed that rxp951 said he grinded down his adapters which I see in the below pic. I'm thinking I will have to grind it down which is going to take forever.

Or I guess I could do them like Hydrotoys did in the below picture. Does the kit come with bolts long enough to go thru the top part of the clamp, both bottoms, and the steering plate?

This guy posted that he has the tag clamps which look to have the same bumps on the bottom as the protapers (per the pic on island racing site). But his are sitting flush. I guess he either grinded the nubs off or cut them with a hack-saw:

I dont see how those will work. The stock steering plate is flat.

They are designed to fit INSIDE your existing clamp lower section, hence the half circle shape on the bottom. they add 3/4" rise to the setup which is nice if you stand up a lot like I do.

Take a second look at JavaJoes 3RD pic down. He is running BOTH, the new PT clamp AND the old lower factory clamp.

It gives up a bit of trim function but has already saved me from some pricey dentist visits.

You actually get used to it. besides it's not like I am constantly on the trim. The first one I did started to get sloppy, i was not worried about it coming off but it just felt weird. I sold the ski and offered to send the guy the other half of a short set I have. The cool thing is you can get colored rings and end caps from ODI to really set it off. Here is Darrin's ski "1300/nv" I really like the way it turned out. Great mod Steach

                            • I got to ride steach's ski a few times, and for me, the fixed grip is not an option. i play with the trim too much. i usually just hold the purple trigger in and twist as i go. i am also only about 185 lbs, so i don't have as much weight to throw around on these big ski's as some folks. . .

I ordered a set of grips. initially i was going to do duke's mod of keying the short grip into the white plastic, but after looking at it i was doubtful that it would hold up to my abuse. so i actually removed the over mold from the core on the rogue and glued it onto the stock white grip. trimmed it with a razor and installed the stock end cap. its a little sloppy, but i'll make it permanent over the winter. the next one I do will also be cut a little cleaner.
