Yamaha enginered the GPR motor to meet emission requirements, in doing so they gave us a few litlle challenges to modifying the motor. One of those was the "tamper evident" or "tamper proof" caps on the carburetor. These caps are pressed in brass plugs that cover the high and low speed adjuster screws. The carbs are painted which makes these difficult to identify, I have had a few members contact me who drilled into the carb in the wrong location and basically ruined them.
This is a pretty simple mod to do and there are several different ways to do it, I will show how I do it. I will also show where these are located and the size of them so you can see how deep to drill. My method insures that I do not remove anything other then the plug. Some people drill the enire plug out and end up drilling into the aluminum housing.
