1998 GP1200 triple finally done! Well almost!

Here are some pics of it pretty much almost all done. I still need my mline seat cover, jetworks valves, new couplers, and umi steering with some 29" bars. Oh BTW the hose clamps on the third pipe have been changed over to the T-clamps. I finally got them today.(I hate UPS )

Very nice, looks great! I am looking forward to hearing some numbers on that ski. It should make atleast 180 hp.

Hopefully I can pull some good numbers. It is set up for CC though. Maybe with a different head and a little more comp, I could get 200HP.

Well got it hooked up today on a hose and no leaks. Sounds really good. Can't wait til i get it on the water and pull some numbers. So how many tanks should i run in for break in? One enough or should i do 2 tanks for insurance?

one tank is plenty-i usually do 5gals myself never had a problem

Oh and a rear bin(osidebill) cause i lost mine! My rear seat is loose and need one so i can cut the lip off it to seal the seat to the hull.

UPDATE

Just wanted to post some things i have done. Been having some carb/tuning problems and no money for some novi's.

I doubled up on the little check valves on the valve body and inserted a 90 main jet on the return line. I have to give a big thanks to Bill(osidebill) for all the parts and time on the phone. I started it on the trailer and i was reading 2 psi at idle. I am going to get some results this weekend hopefully.

Carb settings on 1998 Gp1200 Triple:

46mm Buckshot carbs(modified mikuni)
142.5 main
117.5 pilot
2.3 N/S
115g spring Gold
22 Pop-off
90 main jet on the return line

I have included an old buckshot chart to show where i started.

But now i am having problems. I cant get over 5000 RPM's.
