Not sure what the big secret is with Turboing the Yamaha's, very little info online, and most people who have them wont give out details.
I'm now in the process of building Both my Yamaha's.

    Thanks for sharing.
Thanks I had the same issues trying to find detailed info. and a a dork for details so as I did this I made sure to keep notes and share the info, thread sizes and all ha

I might have missed it, but how are your water lines plummed for the turbo and to water jacketed pipes? Right now I have the dual water lines, one going to the Fizzle directly, and the other to the engine where the Anode was...... Trying to plan where I pull the turbo cooling line from.

Run your stock intercooler line to the anode and run one of the dedicated lines to the up-pipe > turbo > downpipe

Im trying to understand what you mean by dedicated line. my current set up has my orginal cooler line going to the anode, and the second new line from the riva kit with the extra line going to the Fizzle. But do you mean taking the line from the manifold and running that through the turbo system?

Stock has one feed. that splits one to intercooler and one to motor basicly.

Then commonly people add a dedicated line to the intercooler (sounds like what you did), and use the old intercooler feed to a aftermarket anode.. This is how mine is as well.

BUT I have added another additional line. so I have 3 main cooling paths. Motor, Intercooler, and Turbo jackets. the new 1/2" line feeds the up pipe, then comes out of that and goes in to the Turbo center seton, and then out of that and to the turbine jacket, and then leaves that and goes into the Down pipe,,, and then leaves the down pipe and is injected back into the exhaust, and dumped over board out the riva through hull tip.

What did you do with the hose coming off the Regulator that went to the end of the manifold beside the temprature switch?

You want the up-pipe as hot as practical. Use the outlet of the oil cooler to feed it.

I added a 4th factory pisser (matches the intercooler side now) & dump the rectifier water strait overboard.

fresh cool water feeds the turbo chain in the order I posted above.

                    • where did you pull the third line from? did you tap/thread another fitting into the Riva cooling kit plate?

                        • Code seems fixed, Oil changed, New prop installed.

New spark plugs ready for install for when ever the weather changes.

excited to see how if the new combo works out. 9360 rpm before. 13/18.5 prop... now 13/20 prop... can go up 2 more LBS of boost to make up for the prop.. time will tell if the prop is too much for the 2 lbs of boost, or, if not enough. then can possibly do a cone? or 14/21 I guess.

                          • Im wondering about the cone too. I want a 12/21. Need more out of the hole. Ive been reading that a dual prop setup can help the turbo skis a lot. I should be testing the 3071 next week.

                            • Got to get it out for the first ride of the year. New prop installed.

Dropped RPMs by 600-700 rpms. Consistently 91 mph, 8650 rpms. So whiles its good I did not loose speed and only RPM. Best of 93mph 87XX rpms with me on it. Too me seems to fast for that RPM, so maybe a fluke. But 91mph every time and never less then 8650rpms. before best rpm was 9360, normally 9250-9300.

The water level was up too much with all the rain so no beaches to get off ski and make changes to boost and fuel. Ski was at 17.8-18.2 lbs of boost WOT, 12.0 AFR (little leaner then normal for me but was 70s out not 95). SO there is room to turn the boost up now, just need some beaches so I can turn up boost, and dial in fuel pressure if needed. Planning on 20lbs WOT (may peak 21lbs or so for millisecond as wastegate catches it so far seams to spike 1lbs higher when toy stab it). Not sure 2 lbs of boos is enough to gain back 600 rpms. Time will tell.

I was worried the prop would not be enough, looks like it maybe the other way. ha once it all dialed in at that boost (I don't want to go past that on pump gas). I will see what I need to do to gain back RPMS ski likes it at 9300 WOT...

Welcome any thoughts or comments. also curious what it will run once 2 lbs are added to it guesses welcome ?

                              • Glad yours is doing good. I still dont understand why I dont have the speed with the RPM. I am 300ft higher than you, but turning 9600-9700rpm. I should be able to do some testing this week. I have boost cut set at 23.8psi right now.
