Man that sucks. However he did step up a little. Still don’t make it right. This how ever is the same reason I never let anyone ride my ski. I let a buddy take my ski for a ride. Wanted to show his gf around so o thought what could go wrong. Set out some basics guidelines to follow. Sure enough broke everyone. Came back f,d up 3500 in repairs. Down a month with out ski in prime season. Luckily he paid for all the damages.

The motor that was in it was the factory motor.
& I replaced with a factory OEM short block. Bolted new head that I built to it.
it held 9300 & 20 lbs fine... just not for 6 miles strait, on 95 degree day. I can look at the piston rings but I don't think it just failed cause lean or the boost looks to me like exhaust gas temps on back jig got too hot. I don't even know how he held on for that long that fast.. I do 10-15 seconds max.2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).

In my experience & most others the middle 2 jugs run leaner from direct air flow. Riva/ Jesus & Dean have to add fuel to the middle not the ends.
thanks for the compliments so far so good. 3.2 hours & oil change & now another hour or so, about to take it in a all day ride.2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).

Why do you say the other end was leaner? All 3 pistons that made it all look the same. Plugs looked the same as well when reading them. I do not data log. Don't have the ability. But I don't see this as a lean condition. I keep it fat 11.7AFRs but that rear just got too hot from exhaust gas temps / long long time.2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).

Well I don't have maptuner. Use deans team. & personally not looking to push it past 93 octain. Whole point is to stay at that level. Has been fine for 2 years until just abused.2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).

Abused or 1 tank of bad gasoline will have the same results at your current level, but it is avoidable. Proceed with caution.2013 RXT-X260 - GRF BorgWarner EFR 67/58 Turbo/MoTeC M130

Bad gas would have shown damage on the other pistons. This is the result of too much heat for too little piston to wall clearance that Yamaha puts in to pass emissions. I wish Mittens would have honed out the new block. With the right numbers, 6 miles is not abuse. Mark Hahn knows what I mean.

With his current tune, stock internals/clearances, 20# of boost, and "fresh" 93, he's at the limit.2013 RXT-X260 - GRF BorgWarner EFR 67/58 Turbo/MoTeC M130

Little update.
installed R&D grate. First day with it I did notice it handled rolling waves better. So hook up in chop was better then stock cut grate. Speeds seemed close maybe 0.5-1mph faster.. hard to tell small changes on different days.
second day out I swapped back to 85mm nozzle as temps where in 70s not 85-90.
9240 rpm's, 94mph, right at 20 lbs of boost 19.7-20.0 at WOT.
was a little cooler and & I had fastened it up to 11.4-11.5 AFR just shot at the fuel to get safer with temp change 53psi vs 51 from week before. I think the 87mm nozzle works good in the heat 85-95 degrees & in then cooler days swapping back to the 85mm bring rpm's back to make up for the gain. 93 in heat 94 in 72 degree weather.
maybe some tweaking AFR, & holding it longer with less shit in ski (beer, fuel, tools) get 95? Who knows. Happy it's back together. Probably only have 1-2 more rides this season. Debating a dual stage boost controller over winter so I have a 17-18 setting for most the time & then a 20psi on a switch just when needed. Maybe keep it safer for 99% of the messing around.2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).
