  • piston and cylinder destroyed photos what now ?

Got the head off today and found cylinder 2 piston trashed and head has serious pitting , wave eater clips installed so how did this happen ? Looks as though Pv area was impacted , now from photos how much parts am I looking at ? Piston moves as it should but what about all the metal pieces ? Lol

It is still possible for the power valve to fall down even with the clips. I would contact Mike at pwcengines.com. He has always been fair with me.

ring spun around and hooked the exhaust port

Usually happens from a lot of hours on motor, and piston alignment pin fails causing the ring to rotate around and catch the port. I would tear it all down and inspect. Crank may have debris from the damage

What should I do about the other cylinders ? While I am in there already ? Obviously Ill have to take the exhaust apart to get to everything , anything I should change to prevent any more damage ski had 160 hrs

Update ... Removed engine from ski this is the piston damage that I found , no metal pieces in crank that I can see and appears to be fine , pre mix ski had oil lines blocked off but oil line in this cylinder had slid off ???? Issue ? , lean condition or to many hrs on ski ? 164hrs

May be a dumb question but from where does the water leak from? I never noticed water in spark plug or water filled crank I did notice back firing when it was running
