Hey, all - first post here and new owner, so please bear with me.
I recently acquired two GP1300R skis - '07 & '08 with low hours (76 and 72). Took them both out three times and everything ran fine.
Took one out a fourth time and this happened: ran for 10 minutes in a light chop, so only at about 2/3 throttle. Suddenly the engine revved down (while holding throttle) and died. The engine fired right back up, then did the same thing - revved down and died. This happened 3 times before the battery died and I wasn't able to fire it back up.
I walked (yes walked) the ski back to dock. Got it home and added oil - only took about 14oz - and charged the battery. Hooked the hose on the cooling intake and noticed the cap had been left off from the last ride, so that cap was off as I rode. Not sure if that's significant. Anyway, ran the water and the ski fired up fine. Ran for 5 minutes at idle with no issues. Throttled it a couple of times to 4k rpm and no issues. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
