ÔÇÿ04 Yamaha GP800R Impeller not working

I have a new to me 2004 GP800R. Carbs have been rebuilt. Need to purchase the trim control handle/new cables. The engine runs/revs and drive shaft spins but impeller does not. I read something about a shear pin maybe being broken. Where to start? Thanks!

There is no shear pin. If you can see the rear coupler spinning and its not spinning the impeller pull the pump and shaft out. Its probably stripped into the rear coupler.

most likely the splines are stripped in the intermediate shaft
