New Gpr Bulletin

HELLO EVERYONE,
A new service bulletin has been issued by Yamaha for throttle cable corrosion, so anyone wanting a new a throttle cable this bulletin will get that. all GPR's from 2003 through 2007 are calling for this as a mandatory recall. Also 2008 models ser# range F1G-819301 through 821399. Also applies to owners of VX1100, SPORTS,DELUXES and CRUISER'S 2005-2007. 2008 models ser#. range, F1K-854101 THROUGH 868200.
The bulletin referance # is, WR2008-001R.
Well we still got ice up here, darn frustrating, I've got one of Jims plates and a head mill sitting on my bench and no water to run it on yet! Oh well summers gotta come sooner or later. Happy Boating!

Hey Space! This is a safety related issue and all Yamaha motorsports dealers must address this bulletin.

Yamaha replaces all hardware parts in a bulletin that require removal to get at the part in question, hence the clamps etc. of course it may be over kill but their covering their butts in doing this.

install the 2-4 parts of it, pdf edit , pdf sig, pdf995 etc... on your pc...

then once they are all installed go to the dealer page and veiw the bulliten and go to your brouser file menu , then choose print , tghen pick the pdf995 printer which is now availalbe, it will ask for a location to save it in.

save the porint job to your desktop then attach that newly created pdf to this post..

Andy, Last year, the throttle cable on my 03 froze stiff after sitting for 6 months. I wd-40'd the crap out of it and worked it til it was free. But then it wouldnt start. After reading on here i figured the throttle bodies werent closed to idle.

Since i have the 06, I said screw the 03 and just mothballed it for the season. I bought a used cable on here. but never got around to installing it. The cable is frozen once again. Something isnt right in there.

From reading the bulletin jeff sent. Yamaha is serious about fixing them. But theyre only going to go as far as notifying people that are still under the 1 year factory or the y.e.s extended warranty.

They'll fix any 1300 that people bring in. but, it makes you wonder how many people that own ski's that are out of warranty will never know. Sounds alot like what happened with the 2003 pump shoe inserts. 5 years later and there are still ski's out there without the pump shoe bracket update.

I'll give dennis a call on monday at hamilton and see whats up as far as getting the 03 fixed. I havent had any problems with the 06 yet. As long as it doesnt give me any problems i'll just wait til the end of season to have that done.

I noticed with the cable where it splits into 2 that the plastic cylinders are slotted and they're not even seperated from each other. Thats just begging for a cable to get caught in a slot, or even a cable jump over into the other side and get bound up. Pretty crappy design.
