    2003 gp1300r

    I was in your shop a couple of weeks ago, I have a GP1300R that had a crimped oil hose. Thanks for all the help and advice. I have replaced 2 pistons and all the rings, and putting on a new stock oil line.

    I have new power valve oil seals, washers and clips. I remember that you told me the seal go with the flat side out. I am trying to figure out exactly how the wave eater clips should be installed. From the Yamaha diagram I see that the washer goes against the seal and the clip outside the washer. The wave eaters have a spring side, and a side with a pin and a washer. Should the spring face the pulley or away? Where does the washer go, or does it replace the stock washer?

    Thanks Jim.

          7.8 ml of oil per 1 liter of fuel.

          1ounce = 29.57353 ml
          1gallon = 3785.412 ml

          0.0078 ml oil to 1 ml of fuel
          or
          120 drops of oil to 1 litre of fuel
          or
          1.58 teaspoons to 1 litre of fuel
          or
          0.52 tablespoons to 1 litre or fuel

          -----------------------

          easiest is to run premix 40:1

          500ml of oil per a 20liter fuel and be done with it..

                LOL.. dude ill do the mathematics with you

                7.8 ml of oil per 1 liter of fuel.

                1 uk gallon = 4546.092 ml

                0.0078 * 4546.092 = 35.4595176 ml per 1 UK gallon

                1.247665 UK ounce per 1 UK gallon

                    just curious-adding 1 oz of oil to one gallon of fuel at 4500 ft above sea level-is this safe? i have been getting mixed answers-stock oil pump is being used.

                      UK oz are the same as US, just more of them in a UK gallon ( 5 pt worth instead of 4 ) so 1.25 oz per Limey/Cannuk gal is same as 1.0 oz per Yankee gal

                        also, 1 oz per 128 oz is less than 1% displaced gasoline ( or petrol ) and this is much less than a jet size on a carburator. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it about 4% per jet size ? At least on Mikuni motorcycle carbs.

                          03 XLT 1200. Kept the oil injection.

                          I recently posted this question regarding concerns of running slightly lean(oil) if carbs were adjusted for D-plate, Flame arrestors, & deleted Fuel Accelerator.
                          I was told I was worrying too much/over thinking .
                          ..now I see this.
                          Would the same theory apply to oil injection on a carb'd engine?
                          I'm not even sure these basic mods would warrant tuning any more fueling but I do ride WOT a bit & don't want to be short on oil.
                          I know I could add some pre-mix as mentioned but the reason I kept the injection is so I wouldn't have to measure this out all the time. & carry spare oil.

                          Do you guys think I'm getting enough oil w/ these basic mods?

                          I was thinking a slight o/i cable adjustment might be the answer.
