  • Best method for removing oem graphics

My IPD number plate will be in this week. I've never had an issue removing graphics with fiberglass hulls. Just wondering what method members are using on nano cell hulls? Rubber wheel, heat gun with adhesive remover?

A hair dryer works. Then use GooGone from W-mart. Find it in the paint department.

I used a heat gun on all mine. No adhesive was left behind so that was a plus.

+1...the stickers peel right off once you heat them up. Sometimes there is no residue left. No paint damage at all.

I use a heat gun as well and it takes very little effort to remove them..

Pulled mine off when the ski was sitting out in the hot sun. No residue if you pull slow. Heat gun/hair dryer work good too.

Use caution with a heat gun on your hull! I recomend a hair drier on high for most people to use unless you are experanced with a heat gun it is best to use a hair drier. Itr might take a little longer but much less danger of over heating your hull IMO. Tommy Jordan

Some heat guns have a low setting that is pretty safe and pretty much on the level of a hair drier, maybe a bit hotter but not too much. Yes though, I wouldnt be too liberal with the heat on high because it doesnt take long. I've seen them cause SS door panels and sidewall panels on 53 footers to bow out from people using too much heat to remove decals.

The best method is if it dont come off with a little heat then be patient and take your time, more heat isnt always the answer.

For the toughest decals I'd agree but I wouldnt bother if they're coming off fairly easily..

Well there you have it! Heat is the best method ... a good shop lite setting for about five minutes up close (10") away will do the trick ! Most likely no sticky residue left ... if so a little Goo Gone .... looks as good as new

If anyone plans on using a heat gun keep it on low, and keep it far away from the body.. At least a foot.
