  • Attention: Owners of 2013 and newer Yamaha SHO/SVHO skis please read!!!

While not a big concern for stock skis, If you modify the ski for more RPM and more boost then there are two issues that cause some concern.

One issue is on 2015 and newer skis the supercharger gear is pressed on the shaft and can move causing damage to the supercharger.
If you are going to modify your 2015 or newer ski to turn more RPM then it's a great idea to upgrade the supercharger shaft.
If you install a higher boost supercharger impeller then you must also upgrade the supercharger shaft.

There are two options. Either the R&D shaft, or Riva supercharger shaft upgrade. You can save 10% off either option in the GreenHulk Store, by using the discount code: greenhulk

The second issue is the 2013 & newer supercharger front housing. (2012 and older housings need not be concerned)
The front housing is 2 pieces and has the volute pressed into the outer housing. There are known cases where the volute moves back and makes contact with the supercharger impeller causing damage. It's a good idea to drill and tap the front housing and install a set screw as shown in the below pictures to prevent the front housing pieces from moving apart.

    Hope this helps!
    Jerry

How would the front cover walk back against the impeller if it's already bolted down tight the supercharger itself?
