Is there a gasket between the housing parts that needs to be replaced when putting it back together after installing new shaft?

... installing a set screw just like Yamaha themselves used to do on 2012 and older superchargers (see above pic). Yamaha should still be pinning these housings!!!

Furthermore, putting that set screw could not cause any other component of the supercharger to fail. It prevents it from failing.

I have posted some notes for installing a retaining screw into my GP1800 SVHO supercharger.

I think Ill just do this modification with the drilling and tapping for 2 screws, maybe 3. Looks good and intact there.
