Yes it does have speed limiter and RPM limiter.
Get the Riva Maptuner X system and you can reflash the ecu and get rid of that And ad a nice to tune the ecu!

A scom would work but I think it would only give you 2-3 extra mph.

I wonder if removing the speed limiter will void the warranty? Anyone know?

The Riva SCOM module will not work on the GP1800 skis

Neither Riva or R&D currently offer a speed control module for these skis.

Does reflashing the ECU and removing the speed limiter automatically void the Yamaha extended warranty? I want to get all I can out of my ski with minimal mods because I want to keep it reliable. It's brand new so not sure what kind of bugs it might have that need working out and am curious if such minor tampering would cost me my warranty???

Yamaha ecu have a history where they can see what rpm vs time.
So dealer can see how long time you been over ex 8000 rpms.
                          That would void your warrenty.

Even if you flash back ECU to stock the history will still be there..

BUT , Very soon we have a ready solution for that with Maptuner X.
(the history will not show high rpms..)

((This will be for all yamaha from 2014 -))

Will let you know more once ready. (hope max 2 weeks)

                            10000000% sure
It's been tried. It doesn't work.
No the ECU's are not the same. The GP1800 has RiDE. The FZ's do not..
