  • Location of beeper/warning speaker - 2022 FX skis

Hi, can someone tell me the exact location of the beeper/warning speaker in 2022 Yamaha FX models? I would like to dampen the volume of mine.

I don't want to disconnect it. There is a helpful video on that just that here by the way - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yu6RLbTzros

    Thanks!

Normally it's found around the base of the handle bars. Black round hockey puck looking but only 1/2 dollar diameter.
2016 FZ, Custom turbo design, Borg Warner EFR 6758 W/V-band .85ar, Still dialing set up in...20lbs of boost, 9240 RPMs @ 94mph (in Alabama Heat with tools, fuel, full cooler, & 245Lb rider).

Thanks - I assume that is within the hull? I had a look and can't see anything, let alone how to access in, up and around there!

From what I've read (haven't done it myself, but will try to get in there between the holidays) it's right behind the handlebars...I'm going to start looking by removing the "divider" between the front storage and fuel tank, and have a look around.

No outside the hull at the base of the handle bars. At least for ALOT of models. FZ, GP, old GP. Ect.

Try taking a look at this video at 7:25 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MslcYs7eKao&t=546s

When I ran my fish finder cables, I removed the side panel and remember being able to access the base of the handle bars there. Just remove a few bolts and slide it off. It's easy enough. If you do find the speaker, please post a picture of what it looks like and where you found it

Black 1/2 dollar round size hockey puck thing, with plastic nut on the bottom that holds it in a a mettal bracket, hole.

The speaker is right behind the handle bars. Immediately under this piece of plastic. In fact, what stops you from pulling the plastic up and accessing the speaker from above is the bolted speaker itself.

You can see it by removing the right hand panel (not accessible from the left, there is a bracket blocking it) as seen at 7:25 of the video musubi mentions above.

You would need some very small/nimble fingers to be able to do anything with it, including muffle it. Maybe others have ideas though.

Anyway, it has red and black wires. So I found them by going in through the panel of the front storage compartment. Mine were tucked in behind all the others:

And I unplugged them and covered them with electrical tape:

For the record I think it's completely absurd that we need to do this to enjoy our PWCs in peace and quiet.

Mine comes on at 30-40% of my fuel left, and it is not possible to turn off. When I slow down to hit the icon, the fuel level changes and the alarm goes off. Then as soon as I start up again, the alarm comes back on. Hearing it for 30 minutes non-stop while you ride home is not fun.

My dealer has said there is nothing they can do. So this is my last resort to be able to enjoy my ski.

Is anything else powered by that connection that you taped? I'd like to shut mine up as well, but don't want to lose anything else besides the siren.

One idea, which isn't cheap, is to buy a new buzzer and plug it in, bypassing the stock one. Then you can muffle it and re-secure it how you want. I'll be opening that panel up again soon, so I'll take a look myself. Thanks for the pictures!
EDIT: Actually eBay has much cheaper used ones for sale. I'm picking one up so I can still have the speaker, but muffle it. Then just replug it back into the original if I'm going back to stock (say I'm selling the ski).

Cool, please send pictures of how you access the existing speaker and muffle and attach the new one.
