Yamaha 2021-2023 Low Fuel Alarm, Reduced Fuel Tank capacity?

If trailer is tilted nose down while being fueled, the tank will accept less total fuel.
Level hull to moderately nose up on the trailer will help with ‘stuffing’ the fuel tank
If the factory check valve remains installed inside the tank filler neck, maximum fuel quantity that can be flowed into the tank is reduced
While riding, if the water is not smooth or the hull is accelerating with fuel level close to the low fuel threshold, fuel slosh can trigger the warning ‘early’
Slow down to idle and when the hull levels out, the indicated fuel level can rise above the warning threshold
For riding purposes, when slowing down to level the hull does not clear a level indicator, that is effectively when the warning is ‘in force’
With the above factors set to maximize the amount of fuel that is loaded into the Yamaha FX fuel tank, and the warning level confirmed with hull level, total fuel available from ‘really full’ down to stabilized level warning would be about 46 litres (12.3 US gallons, as measured by Mr. GP1800 on a recent ride)

All done in controlled environment, stock check valve in place, constant warning on plane and at idle. Trailer levelled on both fills.Comment

Hi
just wondering if you guys have access to the wiring diagram/schematic drawing of the 2023 FX series?
I'm willing to purchase
I've a 2023 FX Cruiser HO supplied in the UK, with the infamous, premature fuel level sensor with constant beeping with around 45% fuel left and the fuel trip resetting it's self when restarting the engine.
Trip information is still present on shut down, still present on powering up the ski, but zeros on start-up of the engine. My theory is a power surge on start-up upsetting the brains of the touch screen zeroing the trip computer also possibly this could be the cause of so many touch screens being fried. So need a schematic diagram of the full wiring circuit to put DC to DC converters in where required as anti surge protection circuit.
So any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Cheers 👍

If you can either enable this or send me your email, I'll gladly send you what I have for the electrical component/diagram. Let me know.👍 1Comment

Hi musubi
I think because I'm such anew member I'm not able to send PM's I have now check my sets may you can try again,
I have bought the online service manual for my 2023 but it doesn't have a full diagram unfortunately
Cheers 👍👍 1Comment

Thanks for the reply I attached a snippet from the Service Manual ( Connection.pdf ) which shows the plug going into the touchscreen unit (Multifunction Information Center), and which wires are the positive and negative. I'm not familiar with the technical portions of low voltage stuff, but if we placed a surge protection between this power (positive side?), would that address the issue you think?
Another way I thought of this is, what if we connected the unit's positive and negative to a completely separate battery, isolating it from the stock system altogether. Would this work as isolating the unit from spikes?
My email is [email protected] if you'd like to continue through email, as I know this thread was more for low fuel alarm issue, vs the data reset.

So, I checked on my ski, powered off, let screen power down, then just powered on screen without trying to start. My fuel used info was reset.
So, not doing that on the svho, I have someone in my ride group who has the 2022 Ho they don’t get a fuel reset so it’s possibly somehow wired differently.2023 FX Cruiser SVHO Stage 1+(Riva cold air intake, crankcase breather, solas 13/18, riva gen2 ride plate, gen 2 intake grate, turbosmart BOV, ribbon delete)👍 1Comment

I powered my screen on the other day and not all of my trip values are being reset. Which makes me think that the touchscreen unit may not be getting the surge.
My main worry is the unit blinking out on me while I'm riding, sometimes far from help. Since then, however, I figured out a contingency plan should that happen, getting me back to safety and recovering my ski.
FWIW, those touchscreen units are still backordered with no ETA.Comment

It seems that the touchscreen unit has given out for some people with them, so it makes me concerned that it could happen when I'm out on the water.Comment
