About the 2023’s I saw a comment on the fuel alarm on a YouTube video from viewer who said; “You can mute it every fifteen minutes on the 2023 fx but youhave to come off throttle.”
To be able to silence it for 15 minutes at a time would be a positive thing!
Can anyone either confirm or deny this for the 2023 FX’s ?

Even if Yamaha extended the time to silence it from 5 minutes (2022) to 15 minutes (and I highly doubt they would do that, given they seem determined to make this issue as big of an inconvenience for riders as possible), actually throttling off will even out the ski, and turn the alarm off faster than you can single handedly decelerate and press the tiny icon correctly. So you miss the icon (or think you pressed it when in fact it turned of itself) and then when you get going again it comes right back on.

I know this from first hand experience.

Honestly, unless you are willing to disable or muffle the alarm, look at another brand. Yamaha have lost the plot with this.

I really appreciate your candid, first hand experience. I started research for a new pwc to replace my ageing Seadoo GSX about three years ago. I ruled out Seadoo due to its ST3 hull and questionable brand reliability. Then the Kawasaki Ultra 310 was next to be researched..gorgeous machine but small forward storage opening, gullwing side storage and low heavy profile in the water ruled it out for me. Now when Yamaha announced going back to a SMC hull for the FX in 2022 that sealed my decision. SMC hull, great SVHO marine engine and fantastic storage….what’s not to like? Well for me it’s this stupid fuel alarm and Connext fuel used reset issues. I will probably continue with my purchase, disconnect the buzzer and hope someday a fix is offered.

I have first hand confirmation that the problem exists on 2023 skis and it just as bad.

I'm thinking the same... Surely there will be an aftermarket fix for this?

Gilberjj. Last week I cancelled my pre-ordered 2023 Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO. It didn’t sit well with me that I would have to disconnect the buzzer on a $30,000 watercraft.
I”m going to stick with SeaDoo but away from the ST3 hull.

I have a 22 fx svho limited so I do experience this issue however for me personally this is a small price to pay for everything else I love about the ski. I will not be disconnecting the buzzer. I fully understand its a case of each to their own though. 'Storm in a tea cup' for me

Yes definitely a personal decision which was very difficult for me since I’m a Yammy guy! However after speaking to Yamaha Canada and learning that that the known fuel alarm and gauge issue that tons of customers are complaining about was being ignored for 2023 I decided to bail. The MSRP was also 45% more than US pricing which was another thorn in my side.Enjoy your SVHO…it’s a gorgeous machine!

19,399 vs 28,299 from the respective websites. This is way more than USD to CAD currency exchange which is approximately 30%. I realize maybe additional transportation costs, import fees etc etc but this is ridiculous imo.

This week the CAD$ to US$ trading exchange is near 1.37 (37%) plus whatever transaction costs through the financial channel. So perhaps 39% 'transactional exchange rate'

The CAD$ 'list price' is ~46% higher than the US$ list price. In straight up comparison the Canadia MSRP price is about 7% higher than the US market price.

If the Canada price was 'merely' 39% delta over the US price that would be about 1,335 CAD$ less than the actual Canada MSRP.

Sure it would be preferable if the difference was closer to zero percent, but a seven percent penalty for buying in Canada is within the range of rather normal.

Yes I agree the exchange rate is terrible . It was was much better (1.30) back on August 21st around the time the 2023 lineup/MSRP’s were set.

Yeah, that exchange rate is bad! I can relate though, as I quote major engineering/construction projects in Canada and we have to lock in prices 1-2 years in advance. Obviously Yamaha built in some buffer when setting 23 MSRP. It seems like Yamaha expects the exchange rate to continue to get worse from CAD to USD.

Good on you - stick to your guns. Only way the dummies at Yamaha will realise they need to sort this out.

I got to ride a 2023 FX limited for about 25 miles yesterday. I filled it up with fuel to the point of overflowing but the dash never read full. After 25 miles it was on the fuel buzzer which is obviously not right. The fuel burn was higher than normal because I made numerous top speed runs over 80 mph but this is still unacceptable. Yamaha needs to fix this ASAP!
