  • 2023 FX Predrilled Holes For Recdeck

Has anyone got one of the 2023 FX series that had the predrilled holes for the recdeck already there? My buddy and I both picked up 2023 FX Cruiser HO's and neither one of them was predrilled like was said to be. Just wondering if anyone else had theirs predrilled from yamaha.

I picked up two 23 FX Limited SVHOs...

    I edited this post.

I originally stated that "No predrilled holes." What I should have stated is that I did not see any predrilled holes from the top surface. See additional comments in reply #5.

I've watched the videos. It doesn't look like it will be difficult to align the RecDeck though.

How does the messaging on this get so screwed up?

All the reviews of 2023 models have said pre-drilled holes... people start taking delivery, and no holes!? WTF

This is the same with the maps in the 22 FX Limited. All reviews said you'd get a map card included with your 22 FX Limited... I picked mine up, no card included.

Reviewers are reviewing pre-release press fleet review models.
And relying upon info provided by the manufacturer reps at the press event.

Factory configurations and product pricing decisions are revised 

The customers get what the dealerÔÇÖs receive, sometime much later.

Regarding pre-drilled, I stuck my hand inside the hull, under the spaces where the one would drill holes to attach the RecDeck. I felt three small holes on each side. I am not sure if they are through holes. The diameter seems a bit small too, but I can't say for sure. I would have to pull up the factory SeaDek material to see if the holes go all the way through.

I guess there is a chance that the holes I felt are starter holes for where the RecDeck bolts will be installed.

Can confirm, what you felt were the pre drilled holes. I think they drilled the holes, then covered them with the hydro mat. I just stuck a nail to pierce through the hydro mat so I knew where the holes were. Little bit of reverse drill action to the hydro mat and I was good to go!

              Hey that’s good to hear.

Does this count as drilling a hole in your hull for all of the people who are scared shitless to do so?

Great idea... Nail <-- What a great idea. I was trying to think of a way to check that. I thought a small drill bit and drill from the bottom up... but your idea is much better.

                    Seamstress pins or sewing needle.

Poke around until you find each factory hole. The pinpricks you make while hunting for the holes will not be visible afterwards.
