  • 2017 FX SVHO hard to restart after ski is warmed up

Started to do this last year. I can start the ski up and run it for 20 minutes no problems at all. Stop and pull over for ten minutes and the ski does not want to start back up. It will spin over but never fires. Pull the seat off and let it sit for 15-20 minutes and it will start up and run fine until I shut it off again. New plugs installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ski has a stage one Riva flash, ribbon delete kit, air filter delete kit, through hull exhaust, Riva blow off valve.

I recently had the same issue with my 2017 GP1800, it turned out to be the starter, which was cranking over more slowly than normal. I pulled the starter, took it apart and discovered corrosion on the brush holder Assy, part # 6S5-81840-00-00. Once rebuilt I had no issues starting the ski. If you've ever submerged the starter there's a chance of moisture inside.

No, I don't think that is it. I have an AGM battery on it, and it spins it over pretty fast.

You don’t mention having an exhaust upgrade so it’s very possible you have an exhaust leak into the hull. The stock flimsy rubber and plastic exhaust components are notorious for this.

Try running with the seat off and see if your RPM’s come
up higher. Shut off the ski and see if it re starts normally with the seat off.

I highly recommend either the Worx or Riva rear exhaust kit. Stay away from the free flow exhaust as the drone will drive you nuts 😁

I purchased the WORX free flow for my 2018 SVHO, took it to the lake, could not even enjoy the ride. Took it back home and removed it. The drone is really bad
